She is survived by: her husband Hugh Cooper of Columbus, Georgia; her daughter Sherry Darnstaedt (Steve) of Savannah, Georgia; her granddaughter Samantha Mattern (Derek Rocco) of Ann Arbor, Michigan; and her nieces and nephews, Deborah (Leonard) Liles (Thomas), Kenneth P. Leonard (Karen), Donna (Leonard) Omernik (Gregory) and David N. Leonard.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in Maxine's memory to the American Humane Society.
