We are sad to announce that on May 16, 2025, at the age of 74, Richard Byrd of Columbus, Georgia passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
In the vast expanse of eternity, Richard shall find rest, cradled in the arms of everlasting peace. And as we bid Richard farewell, his loved ones carry with them the precious gift of his memory, a beacon of hope guiding them through the shadows of sorrow towards the light of a new dawn.
He is survived by: his daughters, Chakira Byrd of Franklin, TN and Tracie Byrd of Columbus, GA; his siblings, Carole Jackson Munroe of Orlando, FL, Charita Jackson of Columbus, GA and Rev. Jackie Banks of Lanett, AL; and his uncle Joseph Lewis of Atlanta, GA.
Visitation was held on Thursday, May 22nd 2025 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Sconiers Funeral Home (836 5th Ave, Columbus, GA 31901). A graveside service was held on Thursday, May 22nd 2025 at 1:00 PM at the Green Acres Cemetery (1485 Schatulga Rd, Columbus, GA 31907).
