He was predeceased by: his parents, Jefferson Colon Whatley and Elizabeth Gamble Whatley; and his siblings, Rudolph Whatley and Gwendolyn Kincaid. He is survived by: his wife Bobbie Smith Whatley of Columbus, GA; his daughter Tracy Kurtz (Jay) of Columbus, GA; his granddaughters, Madeline Grace Kurtz (Reeves Brashear) of Savannah, GA and Sarah Jane Shirley (Clayton) of Columbus, GA; his great grandchild Iris Elizabeth Shirley of Columbus, GA; and his sister-in-law Janice King of Dothan, AL. He is also survived by nieces, nephews and other family members.
