With sadness, we share the passing of Ruth Cliatt Gilbert in Columbus, Georgia. Ruth, born on July 8, 1929 in Atlanta, Georgia, passed away on July 10, 2026. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by: her parents, William Cliatt and Pauline Cliatt; her husbands, Rembert Houser and Billy Gilbert; her son John Russell Houser (Rusty); and her siblings, Elizabeth "Libba" Cliatt Birdsong and William "Bill" Price Cliatt.

She is survived by: her children, Rem Houser (Leila) and Ruth Anne Bonnot (Brooks); her daughter-in-law Kellie Maddox; her grandchildren, Kirbey Broome (Andy), Rem Houser (Cindy), David Houser (Paola), Annie Bonnot and Michelle Bonnot; and her caregivers, Margie Thomas, Sandra McKinney, Jennifer Hardaway, Linda Walker and Gloria Purter. She is also survived by 4 great-grandchildren.
