It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Sam Singer of Columbus, Georgia, born in Plains, Georgia, who passed away on January 15, 2022, at the age of 93, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Julian Hightower Singer and Lucile Sumner Singer. He is survived by: his wife Ann Jennings Singer; his children, Sam Singer, Jr. (Jaime) of Phenix City, AL and Susan Singer Patterson (Brooks) of Atlanta, GA; his sister Julianne Singer Hancock (late Reg); and his brother-in-law Theron Jennings (Sherry). He is also survived by 4 grandchildren, and 5 great-grandchildren.

Sadly, due to COVID concerns, a public celebration of his life cannot be held.

In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to Lumpkin United Methodist Church, PO Box 188, Lumpkin, GA 31815.

I watch the younger grands grow up, worked so respectably with Sam II, and my son (and us) respect and honor the time we have learn from Miss Ann at United Methodist Church in Lumpkin, Ga. Saw you George tonight at B Merrill’s…. So thankful for the opportunity to see and talk with u even though I felt so overwhelmed with old memories and sadness of your grandfathers passing. ❤️🙏”
