We bid farewell to Selus Brown Jr. of Columbus, Georgia, whose journey of life gracefully concluded on September 20, 2025 at the age of 80. Selus touched countless lives with warmth and kindness, leaving behind cherished memories that will forever echo in hearts. He was predeceased by: his parents, Ruth Brown and Selus Brown Sr.; and his siblings, Patricia, Martin and Robert.

He is survived by: his wife Emma; his children, Vonus (Richard), Valerie (Earl Jr.) and Selus III; his grandchildren, Kiara, Emiley (Dawnoven) and Earl III; and his great grandchildren, Dawnoven Jr. and Audrey. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins.

“Mr. Brown, or Dr. Brown as we called him, was a miracle worker for the DAV in support of Soldiers in transition on Fort Benning. Dr. Brown was sort after by everyone on an off post as he helped thousands of transitioning soldiers establish their VA claims. Dr. Brown would also accompany me to the units to help Soldiers understand the benefits and entitlements they earned. No one has ever been able to replace his love for the Soldier and their families. We love & miss you. Eddie”
