We are sad to announce that on May 12, 2025, at the age of 82, Stephen Scott of Columbus, Georgia passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

As we bid farewell to this luminous soul, let his loved ones carry forward the torch of his memory, illuminating the path ahead with the warmth of his love and the brilliance of his spirit. Though Stephen may journey beyond the horizon of our sight, his essence remains woven into the very fabric of our being — a guiding light in the darkness, a beacon of hope in the night.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Gaston Scott and Madeleine Gibbs Scott. He is survived by: his wife Adleyn Scott; and his children, Alicia Ritter (Bradley) of Ave Maria, FL, Stephen W. Scott (Anastacia) of Tacoma, WA, Sarah Scott of Cosby, TN, Mark Sturkie (Krista) of Atlanta, GA, Sallye Anne McGrory (Jay) of Columbus, GA and Joannah Neal (Danny) of Columbus, GA. He is also survived by ten grandchildren.

Steve founded the Fred Young Fund, a student aid program at Jordan High School, and presented quilts to veterans for the Quilts of Valor Foundation.

“Please accept sympathies from the Curtin family. Steve was a Naval officer who served with my brother Andy. They were close friends for years. I was stationed at Fort Benning for 8 of my 20 years in the Army and we were privileged to meet with Steve during our tours. My wife Donna is a graduate of Columbus State University and we toured the CSU art museum while we were attending a reunion in Columbus and we discovered one of Steve's paintings during our visit. Bless you, Steve!”
