She was predeceased by: her parents, Herman Arthur and Virginia Elizabeth Eckstein; and her brother David Eckstein. She is survived by: her husband Peter F. Bowden of Columbus; and her siblings, Anna Rulon (David) of Columbus, William Eckstein (Cathy) of Columbus, Paul Eckstein of Columbus, Georgia and Thomas Eckstein of Phenix City, Alabama.. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
