It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Vernita Simms of Columbus, Georgia, born in Birmingham, Alabama, who passed away on January 4, 2021, at the age of 81, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her mother Vera McPhaul. She is survived by: her children, Kenneth McPhaul (Clare), Anthony Wilson Simms, Joycelyn Simms and Audra Rena Allen (Page); and her sister Donna Marie King.
