He was predeceased by: his parents, James Wheeler (Ethelene Short Williams) and Walter. He is survived by: his children, Michael Short, Marion Short and Syreeta Short; and his siblings, Jarvis Zachary, Cynthia Alexander (Anthony), Debra Williams, Phyllis Williams and Linda Copeland. He is also survived by ten grandchildren, four grandchildren, and host of relatives.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, July 31st 2025 from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM at the Sconiers Funeral Home (836 5th Ave, Columbus, GA 31901). A graveside service will be held on Friday, August 1st 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Ft. Mitchell National Cemetery (553 AL-165, Fort Mitchell, AL 36856).
