He was predeceased by: his mother Dorothy Pagent; his grandchild Chris Thacker; and his sister Anita White. He is survived by: his father Noah Donald Thacker; his wife Kathryn "Diane" Thacker; his children, Shannon Denise Payne (Tony), Melisa Ann Monteiro (Jerry) and Kevin Wayne Thacker (Shawnda); and his sisters, Pat Smith, Shelia Eggie (Larry) and Dona Suggs. He is also survived by nine grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

A memorial service was held on Saturday, May 9th 2026 at 1:00 PM at the Glenn Anthony Baptist Church (1109 39th St, Columbus, GA 31904).
