He was predeceased by: his parents, William O. Massey and Dorothy Murdock Massey; and his brothers, Seve and Stan Massey. He is survived by: his wife Carmen Milagros Aviles; his son William Emilio Marcus Massey; his sister Myra Massey Converse; his brother-in-law J. Thomas Converse; and his niece Emma V. Converse of Columbus. He is also survived by numerous cousins and friends.

In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate donations in Alan's memory made to Columbus Hospice or Morningside Baptist Church.
