He was predeceased by: his parents, William R. Black and Anne D. Black; his grandparents, Walter and Esther Deubler; and his uncle Col. William F. Deubler.

He is survived by: his aunt Catherine Walton; and his cousins, Clint Deubler (Hailee) and Debra Deubler (Todd Hoig).
