He was predeceased by: his parents, Walter Lloyd Hay and Lillie Naomi Weed Hay; his daughter Angela Marie Hay; and his brother Walter L. Hay, Jr.. He is survived by: his wife Mary Jo Parks Hay of Columbus; his children, Taylor Hay, Olivia Diane Hay and William M. Hay, Jr.; and his stepson David Rearden. He is also survived by sister, Dorothy June Couch, 6 grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild.

“Bill Hay leaves a fine legacy of friendship and service to his community. He contributed greatly to the Coweta Falls Chapter of the SAR. He cheerfully served several times as president and helped grow the membership until Coweta Falls became the second largest chapter in the Georgia Society SAR. He was instrumental in securing the monument to the Revolutionary War Infantryman at the National Infantry Museum. Our sincerest sympathies to Mary Jo and the family.”
