She was predeceased by: her parents, Leo Shirley and Lauree Park Shirley; her husband George Emory Merk; her grandchildren, Chris Merk and Jessica Martin; and her great grandchild Boyd Archer Merk.
She is survived by: her children, Mike Merk (Joni) of Commerce, Phillip Merk (Ali) of Commerce and Gloria Martin (Jerry) of Winder; her sister Marion Salter of Forest Park; her grandchildren, Chad Merk, Jarrett Martin (Ashley), Gabe Merk and Vivi Merk (Hayleigh); and her great grandchildren, Emory Merk, Everett Martin, Briggs Martin, Merritt Martin and Rollins Martin. She is also survived by nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, June 29th 2025 from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the Little-Ward Funeral Home (115 State St, Commerce, GA 30529). A funeral service will be held on Sunday, June 29th 2025 at 3:00 PM at the Chapel of Little-Ward Funeral Home (115 State St, Commerce, GA 30529). A burial will be held on Monday, June 30th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the Oconee Baptist Church Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Jackson County Senior Center.
