She was predeceased by: her parents, Leo Shirley and Lauree Park Shirley; her husband George Emory Merk; her grandchildren, Chris Merk and Jessica Martin; and her great grandchild Boyd Archer Merk.
She is survived by: her children, Mike Merk (Joni) of Commerce, Phillip Merk (Ali) of Commerce and Gloria Martin (Jerry) of Winder; her sister Marion Salter of Forest Park; her grandchildren, Chad Merk (Hayleigh), Jarrett Martin (Ashley), Gabe Merk and Vivi Merk; and her great grandchildren, Emory Merk, Everett Martin, Briggs Martin, Merritt Martin and Rollins Martin. She is also survived by nieces and nephews.
