He was predeceased by: his parents, John MacDonald and Elizabeth Busbee MacDonald; his daughter Cumie Elizabeth "Cem" Sherlin; his son-in-law Bruce Hudson; his sister Jackie; and his brother-in-law Hubert "Skip" Yaw.
He is survived by: his wife Sandra Gilleland MacDonald of Commerce; his daughter Deborah Kay Hudson of Ft. Pierce, FL; and his granddaughters, Ashley Sears (Jay) of Ft. Pierce, FL, Heather Rosser (John) of Swannanoa, NC, Rebecca Kraus (Corey) of Winder and Samantha Sherlin (Nathan) of Monroe. He is also survived by ten great-grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Friday, August 28th 2026 from 12:30 PM to 2:00 PM at the First Baptist Church of Commerce (1345 S Elm St, Commerce, GA 30529). A funeral service was held on Friday, August 28th 2026 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to First Baptist Church of Commerce in memory of Mr. MacDonald.
