He was predeceased by: his parents, Margaret Minish and Floyd Thurmond; and his brother Dennis Minish. He is survived by: his wife Georgia Thurmond; his children, Cheryl Thurmond and Larry Samuel Thurmond, Jr.; his grandsons, Larry Thurmond (Claire), John Thurmond (Meghan) and Ted Thurmond (Kayla); his great grandchildren, Jane and Waylon Thurmond; and his sisters, Linda, Cathy, Diane, Cynthia and Anne.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, October 18th 2025 from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Ivie Funeral Home (1053 S Elm St, Commerce, GA 30529). A funeral service will be held on Saturday, October 18th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the same location. A burial will be held on Saturday, October 18th 2025 at the Grey Hill Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made to Victory Baptist Church, Jefferson, GA and Shining Light Christian Academy Jefferson, GA.
