With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Lynda Belle Shields Taylor in Commerce, Georgia, born in Athens, Georgia, who passed away on July 24, 2025 at the age of 94. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her husband Charles Taylor; her parents, William Shields and Mary Shields; and her son Walter Taylor (Debbie). She is survived by: her children, Marvin Taylor, Jean Knapp (William) and Gail McAbee (John); and her grandchildren, Brianna Taylor, Emily Taylor, John McAbee Jr., Michael Moody and Matthew McAbee.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, July 27th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Ivie Funeral Home (1053 S Elm St, Commerce, GA 30529). A funeral service will be held on Monday, July 28th 2025 at 1:30 PM at the same location. A burial will be held on Monday, July 28th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the Jackson Memorial Gardens (6825 Jefferson Rd, Commerce, GA 30529).
