He is survived by: his wife Patricia Perkins Young; his children, Barry Preston Young (Cheryl) and Cecelia Beth Patellis (Jeff); his son-in-law Jim Broome; his sister Shirley Bettis; his granddaughters, Leighton Faulkner (Claxton) and Sydney Young; his great grandchild Ford Faulkner; and his stepgrandchildren, Kristy Patellis, Katy Connell Thompson, Logan Connell, Collin and Mason Thompson.
Visitation was held on Tuesday, September 8th 2026 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Scot Ward's Green Meadow Chapel (699 American Legion Rd NE, Conyers, GA 30012). A funeral service was held on Wednesday, September 9th 2026 at 1:00 PM at the Conyers Presbyterian Church (911 North Main St NW, Conyers, GA 30012). A burial was held on Wednesday, September 9th 2026 at the Hillandale Memorial Gardens (6201 Hillandale Dr, Lithonia, GA 30058).
