With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of John Philp Schmidt of Conyers, Georgia, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on January 3, 2026 at the age of 88. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Horace Schmidt and Constance Philp Schmidt. He is survived by: his wife Elizabeth; his children, Jennifer Thoeny (Mark) of Coralville, Gregory Schmidt (Charlotte Morrison) of Auburn and Daniel Schmidt (Renee) of Cumming; and his grandchildren, Bryce Thoeny (Laura Wiederholt), Renata Thoeny (Jared Bloustine), Reid Thoeny, Ivan Phillips Schmidt, Leo Phillips Schmidt, Theodore Schmidt, Beatrice Schmidt, Susie McGeachy, Maria McGeachy and Eliza McGeachy.
In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Haiti Humanitarian Fund or St. Vincent DePaul fund at St. Pius X Church, Conyers.
