She was predeceased by: her parents, Rubye Elizabeth Poplin Duncan and Harold Carlton Duncan; her children, Michael Brian Carter, Elizabeth Renea Fennell and Richard Jackson Carter; and her siblings, Raye Duncan, Faye Boggus and Carolyn DeBose.
She is survived by: her daughters, Teresa Dale Shoemaker (Eric) of Macon, GA and Rhonda Lea Bernecker (Dave) of Cordele; her son-in-law Terry Fennell; and her grandchildren, Ashley Tapp, Whitney Smith (Chris), Chad Walker (Stephanie), Christopher Fennell (Anna), Trevor Fennell (Christina), Tyler Fennell (Shelley), Shaina Stillwell, Tripp Stillwell and Nichole Smith (Michael). She is also survived by 15 great grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren.
During the COVID-19 pandemic, she sewed hundreds of masks and headcovers that made their way across Georgia.
