He was predeceased by: his parents, Walter Joe Childers and Lillian Lavedia Childers; and his brothers, Tommy Childers and Oren Childers. He is survived by: his wife Alva F. Childers of Cordele; his sons, David Childers (Patty) of Cordele and Durand Childers of Fernandina Beach; his sister Ruby Gordon of Cordele; his grandchildren, Kasey Turner (Jamie), Kayla Williams (Tayler), Ava Childers and Corbin Childers; and his great grandchildren, Kallie Turner and Levi Turner.
Visitation will be held on Friday, July 18th 2025 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Hughes & Wright Funeral Home (1010 E 8th Ave, Cordele, GA 31015). A funeral service will be held on Saturday, July 19th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the Lebanon Primitive Baptist Church (128 Lebanon Church Rd, Cordele, GA 31015).
