She was predeceased by: her parents, Nelson Cape and Maude Mae Schuler Cape; and her brothers, Gene Cape and Glenn Cape. She is survived by: her husband Keith Barnes of Cornelia; her daughters, Jennifer McDaniel of Griffin and Lorri; her son-in-law Mack Turner of Flowery Branch; her grandchildren, Henry McDaniel, Lucy McDaniel, Max Turner, Annie Turner and Charlie Turner; her sisters, Linda Adams of Gainesville, Connie Foster (Lem) of Macon and Vicki Lester of Sautee Nachoochee; and her sister-in-law Joy Cape of Gainesville. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, October 4th 2026 from 4:00 PM to 5:30 PM at the Whitfield Funeral Home, North Chapel (245 Central Ave, Demorest, GA 30531). A funeral service will be held on Monday, October 5th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the same location. A burial will be held on Monday, October 5th 2026 at the Yonah Memorial Gardens (255 Central Ave, Demorest, GA 30535).
