She was predeceased by: her parents, William Oscar Chitwood and Mary Elizabeth Smith Chitwood; her husband Buford Smith; and her siblings, Billy Chitwood, Irene Cantrell, Edith Watts, Annie Loudermilk and Susie Mae Chitwood Ausburn.
She is survived by: her sons, Buford Lynn Smith, William Glenn Smith (Carolyn) and Daniel Jerome Smith (James Mellichamp); and her grandchildren, Chad Smith (Summer), Deana Rider (Wayne), Amanda Mitchell (Jeff) and Felicia Ward. She is also survived by 12 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild, with another great-great-grandchild.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, September 26th 2026 from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Camp Creek Baptist Church (1761 Camp Creek Rd, Cornelia, GA 30531). A funeral service will be held on Saturday, September 26th 2026 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the same location. A burial will be held on Saturday, September 26th 2026 from 3:00 PM to 3:15 PM at the Camp Creek Baptist Church Cemetery (1761 Camp Creek Rd, Cornelia, GA 30531).
