She was predeceased by: her parents, Harold Lee and Norma Evelyn Locke Irvin; her husband Melvin Schaeffer Dowis; and her grandson Daniel Irvin LaCount. She is survived by: her close friend Donald Wood; her daughters, Jennifer Lee LaCount, Ella Deann Ellison (Richard) and Eve Dowis Adams (Billy); and her cousin Norma Jo Irvin. She is also survived by 11 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 2nd 2025 at 12:00 PM at the Chapel of McGahee-Griffin & McEntire (175 Vfw Rd, Cornelia, GA 30531). A funeral service will be held on Thursday, October 2nd 2025 at 3:00 PM at the same location.
