He was predeceased by: his brother Ramon Clois Jones; his parents, Amon Clois (A. C.) and Aleene Jones; his sister Lana; his son Gordon; and his grandson Jason.
He is survived by: his wife Phyllis Harris Jones; his children, Paula Newlon LaCavera, Brian Jones (Marissa), Cristine Newlon Smiga (Christopher), Clara Jones Hernandez (Alex) and Denise Hamilton Seitz; his siblings, Janet Jones Demarchi and Robert Jones (Leslie); his grandchildren, Camden Lorraine Randels (Marshall), Amon Jones, Breanne Smiga, William Smiga and Ethan Smiga; his great grandchildren, Meredith Jones, Dane Randels, Ellis Randels, Wyatt Jones and Jude Randels; and his grandchildren, Sidney, Gabrielle, Jessica, Jared, Jennifer, Michael, McKinlee, Walker and Blakely.
A memorial service was held on Saturday, July 12th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the Camp Creek Baptist Church (1761 Camp Creek Rd, Cornelia, GA 30531). A reception will be held on Saturday, July 19th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the same location.
