He was predeceased by: his wife Patricia Gail Johnson; his parents, Alton Johnson and Maebelle Johnson; and his sisters, Clare Sue Long and Marlene O'Neal.
He is survived by: his children, Al Johnson and Angie Garner (Jason); his granddaughter Laylah Garner; and his sister Marcia Spears (Pete). He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
