He was predeceased by: his wife Phyllis Marlene Pitts; his parents, Henry Pitts and Guynell Pitts; his daughters, Connie Wrye and Debbie Johnson; his sisters, Jean Owens and Shirley West; his grandson Jason Stowe; and his great great grandchild Destiny Huff.
He is survived by: his children, Charles D. Pitts (Deborah) of Monticello and Penny Stowe (Keith); and his grandchildren, Christy Huff, Brandy Stewart, Lisa Pitts, Christel Bradford, Emily Pitts, Jennifer Geirrein, Jacob Wyge, Dale Irwin, Kandy Wood and Angel Kitchen. He is also survived by 28 great-grandchildren, with one on the way; nine great-great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, October 3rd 2026 at 2:00 PM at the Stewart Baptist Church (158 Stewart Church Rd, Covington, GA 30014).
