It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Ernest Johnson of Covington, Georgia, who passed away on May 16, 2026, at the age of 76, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Ralph Johnson and Doris Johnson; his uncle Robbie; and his aunt Marsha Johnson. He is survived by: his wife Carol Johnson; his children, Eric Rowell (Allison), Tina Pennington (Scott), Wesley Johnson (Shannon) and Brian Johnson (Brandi); his grandchildren, Tyler, Taylor, Josh, Triston, Collin, Rylee, River, Griffin, Eli, Rhett, Masin and Olivia; and his siblings, Caroline Glow, Sharon Pounds, Nancy Allen, Myra Yarbrough and James Johnson. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, other family members, and many close friends.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, May 20th 2026 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the J. C. Harwell & Son Funeral Home (2157 East St, Covington, GA 30014). A funeral service will be held on Thursday, May 21st 2026 at 2:00 PM at the Fellowship Baptist Church (4297 Hwy 81, Oxford, GA 30054). A burial will be held on Thursday, May 21st 2026 at the Lawnwood Memorial Park.
