He is survived by: his wife Alice Mitchell; his children, Phylistine Jones (Carlton), Maxine Mitchell, Linda Long (Linton) and Lutricia Mitchell; his siblings, Lucy Horn and Bobby Mitchell (Beatrice); and his sisters-in-law, Mary Lue Mitchell, Doris Turner and Pauline Hull. He is also survived by eight grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren.
Viewing was held on Sunday, September 13th 2026 from 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Jones Funeral Chapel (1518 Athens Rd, Crawford, GA 30630). A funeral service was held on Monday, September 14th 2026 at 1:00 PM at the Oconee Baptist Church (58 LOWER, Wire Bridge Rd, Stephens, GA 30667).
