He was predeceased by : his parents, Oscar Grady and Lucy Coile Bowden; his siblings, Vernon, Lyra, Thurmond and Myrtice; and his son Russell Neil Bowden.

He is survived by : his wife Arleta June of Washington State; and his daughter-in-law Joanie Carpenter Bowden. He is also survived by his grandchildren.
