He was predeceased by: his parents, Jack D. Harwell, Sr. and Emma Conn Harwell; his brother John Steven Harwell; his brother-in-law Roger D. Selman; and his son-in-law Matthew Al Pirkle.
He is survived by: his wife Mary Wells Harwell; his daughters, Juli H. Pirkle and Stephanie H. Pirkle; his grandchildren, Ali Connor (Matthew), Riley Pirkle, Emma Pirkle and Cason Pirkle; his sister Judy Harwell; and his sister-in-law Donna W. Selman. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, and cousins.
