He is survived by: his wife Thelma Gilbert; his children, Tina Wheeler (Billy) and Greg Gilbert (Mona); his grandchildren, Chad Gilbert, Hillary Wheeler, Sabrina Wheeler, Bailly Wheeler and Peyton Gilbert; his daughter-in-law Susan Gilbert; his sister Bonnie Wright; and his siblings-in-law, J. D. and Thelma Cronan. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 22nd 2026 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM and on Friday, October 23rd 2026 at 9:00 AM at the Ingram Funeral Home & Crematory (210 Ingram Ave, Cumming, GA 30040). A funeral service will be held on Friday, October 23rd 2026 at 11:00 AM at the New Harmony Baptist Church (210 Ingram Ave, Cumming, GA 30040).
