He was predeceased by: his mother Abigia Cowart (Inez Cowart); his wives, Helen Cowart, Katherine Martin and Peggy Bailey; his son Ricky Cowart (Chris Croft); his granddaughter Cortney Boles; and his sister-in-law Linda Cowart.
He is survived by: his siblings, Frank (Barbra Cowart) and Hazel (Wayne McCurley); his daughter Lisa; his children-in-law, Keith Kilby and Peggy Cowart; his grandchildren, Michael Cowart, Nicole (Randy Pugh), Brittany (Cody Cox) and Mikayla (Trevor Waters); his great grandchildren, Eli, Cooper, Georgia Pugh, Carson Floyd and Hartley James Cox; and his stepchildren, Judy, Todd Holtzclaw, Tony and Penny Samples.
