He was predeceased by: his mother Herwarth Lappé. He is survived by: his wife Martha Mashburn Lappé; his siblings, Monica (Hubert Ludwig), Maria (Hans Jorg Schultz-Hering), Friedburg (Reiner Scharke) and Andreas Lappé of Germany; and his family, Marguerite, Sonny Mitchell, Catherine Mashburn, John, Cindy Mashburn, Burt, Laura Mashburn and Ellene Place. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
