He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert Fowler and Gretchen Lee Gunter Chambless; his sister Robin Chambless McCasland; and his great grandchild Ayden Chambless-Rucker. He is survived by: his wife Nita Chambless; his children, Robert, Jennifer Chambless of Toccoa, Georgia, Becky and Mark Elliott of Clarkesville, Georgia; his stepchildren, Martha, David Joyce of Powder Springs, Georgia, Ben Petree of Atlanta, Georgia, Jack and Diane Petree of Katy, Texas; his sister Sylvia Chambless of Connecticut; his grandchildren, Jonathon Chambless, Jessica Chambless, Hunter Joyce (Elizabeth), Elise Joyce, Benjamin Petree, Austin Elliott, Carson Elliott, Sari Elliott, Kathryn and Sarah Petree; and his great grandchildren, Britain Chambless, Brooklyn Chambless and Jayden Chambless-Rucker. He is also survived by extended family so well and being Sub-Dad to step-children.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be given to the Cumming First United Methodist Church Food Pantry.
