He was predeceased by: his parents, Thomas Lee and Lona Bell DeLong; his wife Lynn DeLong; and his brothers, Harold DeLong, Virgil DeLong, Odean DeLong and Melvin DeLong.
He is survived by: his children, Charles DeLong (Debbie), Kevin DeLong (Abby) and Beverly Trotter (Matthew); and his grandchildren, McKenzie Halsey, Gracie Smith and Avery Cole Smith.
