He was predeceased by: his parents, Mildred Jeannette Phillips Chandler (Morgan) and Aubrey Joel Morgan, Sr.; his grandparents, Reverend Aubrey Harold Morgan, Ruby Bass Morgan, Charlie Grant Phillips and Ila B Shealy Phillips; his stepfather James Arthur Chandler; and his brother James Randall "Randy" Chandler.

He is survived by: his wife Melanie Dene Morgan (Birdsong); his stepchildren, Leah Velez (Gabriel Velez), Brooke Donaldson (Jay Rounta), Laura Hughes (Robert Hughes) and April Donaldson (Luise Martinez); his grandchildren, Anibal, Logan Martinez, McKenzie, Autumn Hughes and Robin Velez; and his siblings, Greg Morgan, Sr. (Heidi Morgan), Susan Chandler Parker (Donald "Chip" Parker), Scotty Chandler (Amanda Chandler), Joel Morgan, Jr., Teresa Cox and Lisa Hyatt. He is also survived by several aunts, and numerous nieces and nephews.

A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, October 3rd 2026 at 12:30 PM at the Alexandria Emmanuel Holiness Church (627 Lowimoore Rd, Alexandria, AL 36250).

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Grant's memory to the American Cancer Society or the Cancer Research Institute.
