He was predeceased by: his wife Elizabeth Terry Carter; his children, Terry Carter and Tammy Carter; and his siblings, Irene Dobson, Carter, Avie White, Arthur Lee Carter, Clinton Carter and Joyce Carter.
He is survived by: his sister Cora Jean Goodwin. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
