He was predeceased by: his parents, James Staley and Harris Watlington Garrison; and his brother-in-law Edwin Yockey. He is survived by: his wife Sara J. Garrison; his children, David Lindsey Garrison (Leslie), James Andrew Garrison and Melinda Ann Garrison Raines; and his siblings, Lynette McGaughey (Jim) of Graham, NC, Nathan Garrison of Ashville, NC, Rickard Yockey of Maryland and Margaret O'Brien (Terry) of Raleigh, NC. He is also survived by six grandchildren, three great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to be made to the American Cancer Society in honor of James.
