He was predeceased by: his parents, James Lee Evans and Martha Ann Wallace Evans. He is survived by: his wife Lauri Ingram Evans; his sons, James Quentin Evans Jr. (Tammy), Adam Evans (Katie) and John Evans (Catherine); his sister Carla Higgins (Steve); his grandchildren, Dean Evans, Autumn Evans, James Q Evans III, Justin Evans and Kinsley Evans; and his great grandchild Nick Evans. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
