It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Lona Thomason of Cumming, Georgia, who passed away on January 24, 2025, at the age of 98, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Carl Pirkle and Belle Grant Pirkle; her husband YJ Thomason; her siblings, Eva Mae Talley, Lee Pirkle and Reed Pirkle; and her in-laws, Melvin Thomason, Dillard Thomason and Vella Thomason Rice.
She is survived by: her son Jackie Thomason (Dorothy); her grandsons, Steve Thomason (Dawn) and Kevin Thomason; her great grandchild Ryder Thomason; and her sister Lela Pirkle Bennett. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
