He was predeceased by: his wife Betty Lee Alvarez (Muller); his sister Raquel María Alvarez Fernandez; and his parents, José María Alvarez Nuevo and Raquel Francisca Hernandez Quintana. He is survived by: his children, Elizabeth Anne Alvarez, Michelle Raquel Alvarez-Herbig (Heath Herbig) and Daniel Howard Alvarez (Karlene Alvarez); his grandchildren, Madison Sutton, Dempsey Sutton, Gil Rosenberg, Redding Herbig and Bennett Herbig; his siblings-in-law, Francisco Fernandez, Harry Muller and Sherry Byrd; his nephew Francisco Fernandez-Alvarez; and his niece Raquel Fernandez-Alvarez.
A funeral Mass will be held on Friday, September 25th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the Saint Brendan the Navigator Catholic Church (4633 Shiloh Rd, Cumming, GA 30040).
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made to the American Cancer Society.
