She was predeceased by: her husband Lewis Franklin Sterling Jr.; her parents, Charlie Robert and Annie O'Dell Payne White; her brothers, Charles Elmer Payne, Edward Earl Payne, James Albert Payne and Harold Claude Payne; and her aunt Mildred Hall.
She is survived by: her children, Linda Sterling Staton and Robert Lewis Sterling; and her grandchildren, Melanie Baden, Christie Williamson and Autumn Stowers. She is also survived by 2 step grandsons, 6 great grandchildren, multiple step great, great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
