He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Elbert Cecil Murdock and Irene Elizabeth Tucker Murdock; his siblings, Don, Bob, Martha and Eloise; his son-in-law Sandy Roberts; his wife Nancy Elizabeth Ripley; his children, Dianne, Paul (Michele), Aimee (Rockwell) and Dave (Maria Eugenia); his grandchildren, Katie Roberson (Chase), Kevin Roberts (Emily), Sarah Smith, Ripley Smith, Christopher Murdock, Caroline Murdock, Victoria Murdock, Rachel Murdock and Paul Jackson Murdock III; his great grandchildren, Kyleigh Roberson, Cohan Roberson, Channing Roberson and William Roberts; and his brothers, E. C. (Bettye) and Bill (Mary).
