He was predeceased by: his wife Barbara Jean Day; his parents, Joseph Collie Day and Ruby Martin Day; and his siblings, Gwynell Burruss (Ed), Redge Day and Charles Day.

He is survived by: his daughters, Rhonda Kennedy (Ken) and Deanna Reese (Dave); his grandsons, Nathan Kennedy (Brittany), Joshua Russell, Jacob Russell, Ethan Kennedy (Montana), Dalton Kennedy (Lexi) and Jarrett Russell (Sydney); his great grandchildren, Elizabeth Russell, Kendall Kennedy, Cody Kennedy, Eloise Kennedy and Calla Kennedy; and his siblings-in-law, Mary Day, Joyce Perry and Charles Phillips.

Visitation was held on Tuesday, October 20th 2026 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM and on Wednesday, October 21st 2026 at 10:00 AM. A funeral service was held on Wednesday, October 21st 2026 at 12:00 PM at the Ingram Funeral Home Chapel (210 Ingram Ave, Cumming, GA 30040). A burial was held on Wednesday, October 21st 2026 at the same location.
