Mathis; his children, Kristin M. Woodall (Jody W. Woodall) of Cumming, Georgia and Rev. Dustin B. Mathis (Candace Fowler Mathis) of Dawsonville, Georgia; his grandchildren, Sophia Darnell, Caden Mathis, Emmalyn Mathis and Kody Woodall; his sister Deborah Ward; and his brother-in-law Wade Sewell (Sharon Freeman). He is also survived by nieces, nephews, and cousins, along with many other relatives.
