He is survived by: his significant other Marian Weaver Surls; his sons, David Joseph Surls of Lawrenceville and Jonathan (Sarah); his grandchildren, Maddie, Drew and Noah of Brookhaven, Georgia; his daughter Rachel (James); his grandchildren, Cash, Kendall and Ruby of Athens, Georgia; his son Matt (Julianne); his granddaughter Greta of Seattle, Washington.; his children, Christie Surls Mathews of Keller, Carson of Austin and Cambridge of Nashville, Tennessee.; and his sister Linda Stell. He is also survived by his five grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 14th 2026 from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Ingram Funeral Home & Crematory (210 Ingram Ave, Cumming, GA 30040). A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, October 14th 2026 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
