He was predeceased by: his parents, John Roy Franks and Caroline Fleet Franks; and his siblings, Marjorie Franks Wilkins, Virginia Franks and Charles Robert Franks.
He is survived by: his wife Mary Low Franks; and his children, Katherine Haenszel (Tom) of Haslet, TX, John William Franks, Jr. (Lynne) of St. Helena Island, SC, Suzanne M. Roquet of Hoschton, GA and Karin K. Ogletree (Bobby) of Buford, GA.. He is also survived by 9 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
A celebration of life will be held on Friday, December 19th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the Hamilton Mill United Methodist Church (1450 Pine Rd, Dacula, GA 30019).
