He was predeceased by: his parents, John Lee and Johnnie Bell Towler; and his sister Dorothy "Dot" Parr. He is survived by: his wife Susan Towler; his children, Tara Towler-Cumby (Nicholas), Johnny "Franklin" Towler (Jennifer) and Kristen Di Felice (Marino); his nieces and nephews, Stacy Carter, Tammy Nash, Heather Heard, Kelly Nash, Jordan Ash, Jody Parr, Daniel Nash and Josh Nash; his brother-in-law Billy "Joe" Parr; his brother John Towler; and his sister-in-law Claudine Towler of Belgium. He is also survived by his family, his deep devotion to his wife.
